Mexican Day of the Dead inspired bracelet with sugar skull
This unique charm bracelet is influenced by the Mexican Day of the Dead or Día de los Muertos on November 1st, where people celebrate the lives of and pay their respects to deceased friends and family members.Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honouring the deceased using sugar skulls and marigolds and the favourite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. This is a colourful celebration and not a sombre occasion!
I have made this bracelet with a unique handmade polymer clay sugar skull style bead painted with acrylics, coloured imitation turquoise skulls, glass chilli pepper charm beads, millefiori glass beads, cloisonne round beads, cloisonne crosses, silver metal cross, flower and heart charms, a selection of glass and acrylic beads and acrylic flowers to represent the marigolds.
The chain is silver plated and fastens with a toggle clasp. It measures approximately 7.5 inches but I can adjust the length if required.
All of my Day of the Dead inspired bracelets have a unique combination of beads and charms, so are completely one-off designs!
