This bracelet is influenced by the Mexican Day of the Dead or Día de los Muertos on November 1st, where people celebrate the lives of and pay their respects to deceased friends and family members. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honouring the deceased using sugar skulls and marigolds and the favourite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. This is a colourful celebration and not a sombre occasion!
The bracelet features dyed imitation turquoise skull beads, millefiori glass beads with tiny colourful flower designs and silver metal beads linked together and fastening with a toggle clasp. Hanging from the end is a little antique silver colour metal skull charm.
The bracelet measures approximately 8 inches/20cm in length.
