Steampunk Jewellery
Hello!
As you may have noticed, I have been giving Pirate Treasures Jewellery a bit of a facelift with a new logo/header. I now have a Paypal Express shopping cart which is supposed to be quicker and easier to use than the standard one - please can I ask that you make sure you select your country including if you are in the UK from the drop-down box on the shopping cart as otherwise shipping gets muddled!
The latest addition to my collection is Steampunk Jewellery.
What is Steampunk? Here's Wikipedia's answer: "Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date."
As far as jewellery is concerned, Steampunk is full of watch movements and pocket watch cogs, mechanical pieces intermingled with wings and underwater creatures and Victoriana. See my Steampunk page for lots of individual one-off pieces!
I will be moving a
few things about on the website to make browsing easier. The European
(Pandora style) jewellery will have its own section rather than being
in Contemporary and I will have extra beads to buy separately for
mixing & matching with your bracelets or adding to a necklace. This
will be done very soon, but I want to re-take the photos of the
bracelets first as I don't think my present photos have done them
justice!
Don't forget to become a fan of Pirate Treasures if you're on Facebook and I'll be joining the masses on Twitter to do regular quick updates of what new treasures I'm working on - keep an eye out...

Twilight inspired range & new pirate charm bracelets
Well where has the year gone?! It’s racing by so quickly…
I have read the ‘Twilight’ saga novels by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) back to back and loved them so much it has inspired me to make some jewellery! I have decided to donate 10% from all my ‘Twilight’ inspired range to the British Heart Foundation – I thought it appropriate to keep more human hearts beating! I have so far made bracelets, necklaces and a phone charm, with more to come. They can be found in the Contemporary section.
I have just added two new pirate charm bracelets with skull & crossbones cameos. One has glass pearls in black, white & silver and the other has black and clear beads – both have a selection of pirate themed charms as always!
There’s more in the Pandora style bracelet range and also some matching earrings – these are all in the Contemporary section.
As mentioned in my last blog, there are indeed some new coloured Pirate Treasures logo plectrums – they can be seen on designs in the Kitsch and Pirate departments.

Pandora style bracelets
I have just added 6 of my new range of bracelets to the Contemporary section. The current love of 'European' charm bracelets, made popular by Pandora, Biagi, Chamilia and Troll in particular has inspired me to make my own (less expensive) versions. They aren't solid sterling silver and therefore don't have that price tag! They do, however, have gorgeous lampwork glass beads with a silver plated core - I couldn't resist making a couple for myself and am presently wearing a black, red and silver one! As soon as my next shipment of beads arrives from China there will be lots more in various different colour combinations. Don't forget to make allowances for the chunkiness of the beads when ordering, I have given the chain length on the bracelet descriptions, but the beads may add a centimetre to your wrist size. If you have any requests please let me know and I'll do my best to make your perfect design.
Pirate Treasures Jewellery is still being a pirate - a couple of fab new pirate charm bracelets will be available this week, inspired by the image of an overflowing treasure chest!
New plectrum jewellery will be available for the late winter/Spring ranges as I'll soon be getting a delivery of coloured Pirate Treasures logo plectrums.
I've just set up a mailing list, so sign up if you want to be kept notified of new items! Don't worry, I won't bombard your inbox with loads of emails, just the occasional one when there's something I'm excited to tell you about!!

Merry Christmas!
Thank you to all my customers this year, I hope you were all happy with your purchases - thank you to those who emailed to tell me they were, it's always nice to hear!
I've been so busy packing your purchases and visiting the post office the last few weeks (and making commissions for Christmas presents) I haven't had much time for making new jewellery for the website. So I've been making notes of ideas for new designs to work on for 2009... including more pirate charm bracelets in a variety of colours, a collection of matching contemporary jewellery and some new vintage charm necklaces. Look out for the first in January, or end of December if I get a chance!
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

First blog!
Hello!
I thought I would start writing the occasional Blog to let you know what new items I have made or what I am working on.
With Halloween approaching rapidly I have been selling quite a few pirate bandana/hair beads - there must be lots of Captain Jack Sparrows about next week! I have made some more this weekend and they are available to buy now - I'll add a few more ASAP. There are a few new pirate necklaces too. And some pirate earrings. There will be even more by the end of the week!
I have also added some charm bracelets to the Vintage and Contemporary sections. They would make lovely Christmas presents!! All are sensible prices, I know some other designers would charge way more than I do for a handmade one-off design, but I would rather have happy customers than be rich and greedy! Having said that, I am planning a couple of more over-the-top elaborate designs which will be more expensive...
Thank you to Rachel for the commission and thanks to all my customers! Don't forget, if there's something in particular you'd like me to make, or if there's something you would prefer in a different colour, just send a message on the contact form and I'll reply ASAP.
